November Madness + Giveaway

Happy November!
I'm feeling a little under the weather right now.  I'm no doctor but I'd say I've got a cold and laryngitis!
Being sick is nature's way of telling me to slow down and take care of myself.  I find that hard to do!  I'm always taking care of others (both human and fur kids) and inevitably I find myself coming in last place.  So when I came down with this bug I knew I'd have to put myself first.  I took the day off and lounged in bed until I couldn't stand it any longer.  Then I moved a few feet so I could sit in front of the sewing machine.  Lol.  I churned out a couple of holiday ornaments before my energy faded (I got very little sleep the past two nights).
So I'm not 100% sure yet but I may be participating in my first craft show next weekend!  I'm still waiting to hear back from the woman in charge.  I contacted her a few weeks ago and she finally called me back yesterday.  We've been playing phone tag since then.  Since time is of the essence, I'm operating under the assumption that I will be doing the show.  Therefore, I've got to get my crafty bum in gear!  I have 1 week to get enough merchandise together.  That's a lot of crafting in a short amount of time!  Factor in that I'm also participating in National Novel Writing Month (1,667 words per day) and holding down a 50+ hour a week job...I'm not even sure how I'm going to do it all!  ;)
I have will-power on my side...and my ability to work extremely well under pressure (that's how I got through college...I still tell the story of how I wrote a 30 page term paper in 1 night)!  So fingers crossed!  I will keep you all updated!  :)

On to the giveaway!  I will be gifting one lucky winner with one of my holiday tree ornaments.  :)  Here's how to enter:
1. Follow my blog.
2.  Leave a comment telling me your favorite holiday memory.
Additional entry:
1. Blog/Twitter/Facebook about this giveaway.
That's it!  I'll randomly choose a winner on Sunday November 11th.  Good luck!

Craft stores are evil.  There, I said it.  Every single time I walk into one with the intention of purchasing one item, I walk out $60 poorer.  Today could have been worse.  My total was $80 and I forgot my coupons!  Thankfully a sweet lady in line behind me gave me one of her coupons.  I saved nearly twenty bucks!  Thanks really made my day with your kindness!  :)
I'm excited to work on some new creations!

What got you excited today?  :)

  1. No excitement here....not good excitement anyways....went to a birthday party at a park in a lovely residential neighborhood, went out a couple hours later to get my phone to find my window broken into a million pieces and my whole purse stolen! It was stupid to leave it in the car, though I did have it on the floor wedged under the seat.....distressing to have people think it's okay to just take what they want when they want it :(

Participating in a craft show sounds fantastic! I spent a year doing 1-2 a month. I just love the energy of chatting with the shoppers and the other artisans! Maybe you can get what those pillowcases are worth when your patrons get to see all the beautiful details? I can hope, anyways! :)

Hope you feel better soon and catch up on sleep!

    1. Oh that's awful! I'm so sorry to hear that! I had a theft happen to me Thursday (although nothing as traumatic as my purse). I came home to find my pumpkin was taken from my porch! People are crazy. I hope you didn't have a bunch of cash in your purse!

  2. Aw, shoot....forgot to give you my favorite holiday memory!
It was always when Mom would bring out the Christmas ornaments...we'd unwrap each one and I'd get to remember when we got it, when I made it or some other little detail about each one....sometimes forgetting that we owned one altoghter and being pleasantly surprised to be reunited with its memory :)

  3. Lovely giveaway! I'm sorry to hear about your illness :( My favourite holiday memory (well I have many, but I'll choose one) is eating sushi with my friends at our little Christmas gift exchange last year. So many funny stories and inside jokes!

I love to hear from you! :)
