Whoopie!!!

This morning I woke up with the urge to bake. I got out My Sweet Vegan and decided whoopie pie's sounded divine. I've never actually had a whoopie pie so I have nothing to compare this to...but in my opinion these cookies rock! :)

I'm so excited!

I have been wanting one of these adorable Pullip dolls forever! I finally broke down and purchased a mini as a little Halloween gift to myself. I think she's so cute! I can't wait to get her. Gives me something to look forward to next week! ;)

Next on my list? A full sized Blythe doll!

Money Can Buy Happiness!

Adorable Pin Up Girl Mirror! I purchased this lovely item from Wholly Craft in Columbus Ohio.

So freaking cute that I can't even stand it! I bought this (again, from Wholly Craft) for my friend who is due in February. I love this unique two headed teddy bear! I really want one for myself. It was hard to part with him! ;)

Kitty cat knitting needles. These are technically made for children who are learning to knit but I just couldn't resist! They are very user friendly and so adorable! I've already made two items with them.

My new couch cover. It was packaged for a loveseat but it fits my couch perfectly! It's so soft...the animals love lying on it! :)

If You're Going to San Francisco...

Last night P and I went to a Halloween Party. I was a hippie and he was supposedly a hippie too although I think he looked more like a scary lumberjack!

I unfortunately witnessed a scantily clad woman in a mega short skirt dancing erratically. The skirt repeatedly rode up exposing her backside. She wasn't wearing underwear! What a train wreck! Lol.

Swaps Galore!

I've been a swapping machine lately! I recently joined the Christmas Container swap over at Swap-Bot. The instructions were to fill a holiday container with five bucks worth of goodies. I totally went over...I think I ended up spending around fifteen dollars. Geez. If you only spend five there would hardly be anything in the bag! ;)

So I picked out a cute red and white felt gift bag and filled it with 2 pairs of cozy socks, a memo pad, two Christmas ornaments, a kitchen towel, green tea, and yarn.

Yesterday I received two wonderful swap packages. The first one came from an old friend. She sent an autumn themed swap. It was filled with all sorts of goodies such as handmade soaps, a felted acorn purse (so cute), a leaf dish, stones, candle holder, tea lights, notebooks, gourds, and a cute witches boot change purse. Thanks so much Amy!

The other package was from my sister Kelly. As you can see it was a Halloween themed swap. She sent a dish towel, pot holder, tissues, Pez, a squirrel statue (not Halloween related but I love squirrels!), cupcake holders and socks. I love it all! :)

Swaps are so much fun!

I heart Saturdays!

It was so nice to be able to sleep in a bit today! I lounged around the house, watched some t.v., and (finally) dyed my hair! I used L'Oreal Excellence in black.

I had a wonderful surprise waiting in my mailbox this morning. I got two swap packages! One from my sister and one from an old friend. My sister's package was Halloween themed. She sent a kitchen towel and oven mitt, black cat cupcake holders and picks, and a cute bat Pez dispenser.

Amy sent a Autumn themed package with a hand knitted and felted acorn purse! Such beautiful work. :) She also included some festive handmade soap, candle holders and candles, gourds, stones and so much more. I will try to post some pictures this weekend!

Tonight is the Halloween party. I can't wait to wear my costume. I'm such a kid at heart! :) I bought a prop to go with it...a small silk sunflower. After all, what's a flower child without a flower? ;)

Vampire Cats

Thanks to my guilt-tripping Mom I have adopted two tiny kittens! She really had to twist my arm to get me to agree. ;)

They are tiny little cotton balls with the softest, longest fur! One boy and one girl. The only way to tell them apart is the boy has two tiny grey patches on his head. The boy is a silly little terror...the first day I got them I ended up calling him the "big bad" (which will mean something to you Buffy fans). So that is how they earned their names! The "big bad" is Spike and the little girl is Drusilla! :)

Autumn Fun!

Today I took the boys to a local farm for a hayride and pumpkin picking! It was such a fun experience. I thought the baby would be scared of the hayride but he was such a trooper. He even ended up laughing and pointing at things we saw along the way. :)

We even got to wander through a corn maze!

Afterwards, we visited the petting farm. The boys loved the cows, bunnies and chickens!

Flower Child

I went costume shopping yesterday and was dismayed by the total vulgarity of most of the costumes. Even the ones made expressly for juniors were awful! Who would let their 13 year old wear something so slutty? So my options were down to a prisoner (think black and white striped scrubs) or a vampire (of the non-sexy variety). I hated both so I started wandering the isles of the Halloween shop. That's when I stumbled on the most perfect costume for me. Ever.

Hippie Flower Child! Very cute and well made costume. Cost a pretty penny but I rationalize it by saying I will wear this costume for many more Halloweens. ;)

So I've been experimenting in the kitchen lately. Today I made a delicious Moroccan Couscous Salad. It's full of raisins, peppers, garlic, chickpeas and cilantro. Yum!

If they gave out awards for cookies, I would so win it! My vegan chocolate chip cookies definitely get the boy's seal of approval. :)

Got The Keys?

As you can see, Fiji is fully recovered and back to his old self! I admit he got a bit spoiled after his health scare. Ashley and I spent way too much money at the pet store on a new cage, food, bedding, and toys! He really loves tossing his keys!

Ashley came to spend the week. We had so much fun! I think we ate out every night, played lots of board games (I will beat you at Boggle one day!) and generally just had a great time. :)

Fiji!

Fiji is ok! Yay! He basically had an upset bunny tummy and wasn't going potty like he should. He's now on 5 medications for the next week along with a special diet. Glad he's going to be ok. :)

Poor Fiji

My bunny is sick! He's going to the vet in an hour. I will post an update when I know more! :(
