I officially opened my shop on May 4th! I've had such fun with this one. I think since I've already been through the process with flowerchildeforever, I was able to focus more on the creative aspects rather than the technical. I also hired someone to create my banner, avatar, business cards, packaging, etc. It's been a fun process. I've gotten some good feedback too. Yay!

Kittens and Crafting
Hello lovelies! How is this week treating you?
I'm having a little "staycation" this week and I'm loving every minute of it! I've had some time to spend with my fiance, which was great. He lives over two hours away so we are lucky if we see one another twice a month. So he came for a long weekend visit and other than going to dinner on Saturday night, we pretty much just spent our time at home (something we rarely do...we're always on the go). He even had time to hang this shelf in my craft corner. After he went home yesterday, I spent several hours organizing and prettifying (is that even a word...lol). I wish I would've taken a before picture. The difference is night and day! I love it. I feel inspired to sit there and create. Before the shelf, all the things were crammed on that small table. Not much room left for sewing!
It's still a work in progress. I want to get some pretty fabric storage bins for the shelf. I'm also going to make a smaller version of my fabric banners, to string across the shelf. :)
It's really amazing how just a few simple changes can make such a huge difference.
The wedding countdown has begun! We are 10 days and 18 hours away. It really snuck up on me! I'm using this week to get all my crafty wedding stuff done. Like this "Welcome" embroidered sign...
The kittens are growing up! They are 27 days old today! Last week they learned how to play with each other (and me). It's really cute. They lay on their backs and wave their front paws while kicking with their back paws.
This little girl seems to really like me. Ever since she was a newborn she would let me hold her without crying. The other two kittens would fuss and carry on, but not her. She likes to snuggle with me when I'm watching tv. Sometimes she tries to "nurse" on my arm. Silly kitten!
This little girl is the biggest kitten. She's a sweet, content little thing with a big tummy! She really enjoys watching her siblings. She seems to just take it all in.
This is the boy kitty...he's also the runt of the litter. However he doesn't let that stop him. He's the most adventurous of the group. Much to his Mom's dismay, he has discovered the world outside of his box nursery. He climbs out and she drags him back. He cries loudly and stubbornly crawls out of the box again. Mamma Cat follows and drags him back. He cries again. It's a vicious cycle. Lol. I love his independent spirit!
Zoe thinks she's the Mommy! She loves these kittens so much. She grooms them every chance she gets. It's adorable. I call them her "kitty crack" because I swear she acts like a druggie in need of a fix whenever they are near! Lol.
Speaking of Zoe, she nearly gave me a heart attack a few weeks ago. I was having a late night snack of grapes. I sat the bowl down and left the room for a moment (without thinking). When I got back Zoe had knocked the bowl down and had eaten all of the grapes...I'm estimating around 20 grapes.
Grapes can be toxic to dogs so I rushed her to the ER Vet. They admitted her and induced vomiting. They gave her lots of fluids to flush her system and decided to keep her for observation. So Zoe had to stay for two whole days. They ran tests to make sure her kidneys weren't damaged. The tests showed she was free and clear, so I got to bring her home. It was such a scary two days for me. I would never have forgiven myself if my sweet girl had died because of some stupid grapes.
I've banned grapes (and raisins) from my house. It's just not worth it. Not to mention the $300 vet bill (right before the wedding...I was not happy about that)!
All's well though. That's what matters. :)
Happy Tuesday!

May Day Surprises and More!
This May Day was an extra special one for me. I woke to a most unexpected and wonderful surprise. Bast had kittens!! Funny thing is, I didn't even know she was pregnant. I noticed that she had grown chubby seemingly overnight. There wasn't any reason to think she was pregnant. The boys in my house are all neutered. And then I remembered. The night before Romeo's (the stray) surgery, he had access to my house. I guess all it takes is one time!!! Now Bast and I have three tiny kittens! They are really quite sweet. These photos were taken hours after they were born. Already, mere days later, they are bigger! Kittens grow too fast!
She has one grey and white and two black and whites...super cute. :)
The papa cat...
Romeo's new girlfriend (men are so fickle!). She (I'm assuming it's a girl...I have no proof) is a feral and I call her Juliet. Isn't she pretty?
Some shots of the neighborhood chickens. Their owners let them free range all over the neighborhood. Cute!
Ingrid enjoying her walk...
and the peonies!
I started my riding lessons again on Saturday. This is Sonny. He's pretty awesome.
My latest project. I'm dragging my feet on this one. I think I don't really like embroidering people...I always take forever to finish them.
I've been hard at work on my new Etsy shop. I've got everything set up and some dresses listed. Now I'm just waiting for the Etsy shop branding stuff I ordered. Figured I'd pay someone to design my banner, avatar, business cards and so on. One less thing for me to do! I'm also waiting on my packaging. Once I have those things, I can officially open the shop. I do have a name picked out...

Craftin' Outlaws
Last Saturday I went to Craftin' Outlaws for the first time ever. For those of you who don't know, Craftin' Outlaws is a huge Indie craft show held here in Columbus Ohio. I've lived in Cbus for 9 years now...I have no idea why it's taken me so long to go to this show!
So I actually made it early enough to be one of the lucky hundred to nab a free tote bag! Perfect for carrying the days purchased! :)
My first purchase of the day was that cute misfit cat! He's missing an eye and is covered in bandages and stitches but he's just as loveable as can be! The artist told me that he was based in an actual kitty that she rescued!
I scored a festive upcycled coffee mug with a picture of a cat and the words "forever alone". The perfect cat lady mug!! Lol.
I found a booth selling the most divine soy candles. They had cool scents like "playdoh" and "fruit loops". My favorite was "buttered popcorn"...it makes my room smell heavenly!
I added two new vintage pet photos to my collection. I think the deer with the bow is my favorite. :)
I found a cute purse with lovely little pockets seen in. Hopefully it will help me to be more organized. I'm such a purse slob!!
I got a festive retro style Mothers Day card for Mom and a little gift for my sis.
Overall, a great day!!
While I was there, I scoped out the vibe and noticed no one was selling festive embroidery....so I may apply for next year!

Teal Beauty
I've been bitten by the collecting bug, thats for sure!! This little teal haired beauty will be joining the family in May. She's a beautiful custom by dolliedreamz. As soon as I saw her, I instantly felt drawn. That's how it's been with all my girls. I just knew she had to be the next one! I'm extra excited because she's been rerooted with alpaca hair and she has an Obitsu body! Fun!
I promise one day soon to return with non Blythe posts!!

News
As you can probably see from my last several posts, I've become fixated on Blythe. I'm obsessed with sewing tiny dresses! I've decided to put this new obsession to good use....I'm opening a second Etsy shop...dedicated strictly to Blythe clothes. :).
Here are a few samples of what I've been up to...
I am hard at work getting together stock. I am planning to open shop in the next few weeks!
